Objective & Concept
Our goal for 'Link' was to build a vibrant mini-mall that will strengthen Mecca's cultural and community ties while fusing traditional and modern design elements.
In order to turn a plot of land into a retail complex, we tried to combine old world elegance with modern significance.
Design Inspiration:
We blended geometric accuracy with organic fluidity, echoing Arab architectural legacy in a contemporary setting, and were inspired by the decorative and practical application of arches in ancient architecture.
Audience Engagement:
By establishing 'Link' as a central location for a range of activities, including entertainment and shopping, we were able to strengthen community bonds and promote regional economic development.
